Questions about SVNTY

Answered from the City’s register and Ontario’s Residential Tenancies Act. General information, not legal advice.

Is SVNTY rent controlled?

Probably not. The register says SVNTY was built in 2025. In Ontario, the yearly rent increase guideline applies to units that were first occupied as a home on or before November 15, 2018. Units first occupied after that date are exempt from it. So for most units here the landlord can raise the rent by any amount, though still only once every 12 months and with 90 days’ written notice.

Who manages SVNTY?

The City of Toronto’s apartment building register lists Bentallgreenoak as the property manager.

Does SVNTY allow pets?

The City has no register entry for this building, so it records nothing either way. Either way, a “no pets” clause in a residential lease is void in Ontario under section 14 of the Residential Tenancies Act.

What amenities does SVNTY have?

This site lists amenities from the City's rental register, and SVNTY is not on it yet, so there is nothing to list — which is not the same as the building not having them. BentallGreenOak publishes what the building has.

How close is SVNTY to the subway?

St Andrew is the nearest subway station, more than half an hour away on foot. That is estimated from straight-line distance, not a routed walk.
